2014: A Fear-Less Year

It is not a coincidence that the sermon on the last Sunday of 2013 was about the relationship between fear and faith, and that Ann, Beth, and Lisa-Jo have all blogged about it in the past few days.

He has been whispering in my ear, "This year, Allison, will be fear-less."

Even in the dark places...

"But no one except Lucy knew that as it circled the mast it had whispered to her, 'Courage, dear heart,' and the voice, she felt sure, was Aslan's, and with the voice a delicious smell breathed in her face."     ~C.S. Lewis, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  ~John 1:5

Even in the unknown...

"Much-Afraid, don't ever allow yourself to begin trying to picture what it will be like.  Believe me, when you get to the place which you dread you will find that they are as different as possible from what you have imagined...and if you ever let Craven Fear begin painting a picture on the screen of your imagination, you will walk with fear and trembling and agony, where no fear is."  ~Hannah Hurnard, Hinds' Feet on High Places

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set me feet on a hard, firm path, and steadied me as I walked along.  ~Psalm 40:2

He came to give me abundant life.  He died and rose again so that I can fear-less and...

  • trust more

  • enjoy more
  • learn more
  • forgive more
  • give more
  • hope more

There are hundreds of verses in the Bible on this topic.  HERE you will find a list of 50 verses to help you live fear-less this year.
